Don't Mix and Match: Never run two tires of differing construction. We can't stress this enough, and this rule applies to bias-plies vs. radials as well as tubeless and tube-type tires--even bias-ply vs. bias-belted tires. The results can be disastrous.

When riding for long distances monitor tire pressure every morning when tires are cold. Then check tire pressure after a few hours of use. More than a 10% increase in inflation means the tire is working too hard. Lighten the load, decrease speed, or add air to the tires so they run cooler.

When oil is changed, it’s a good idea to check tire pressure and inflate to at least recommended manufacturer suggested pressure or higher so the tires run cooler and have less rolling resistance. This will result in better fuel economy and higher mileage for your tires. It also helps avoid irregular tread wear on the tires.

Hydroplaning is the effect when the tire rides up onto the water surface of the road. What effects this is both the remaining thread depth, speed of the motorcycle and the amount of water on the road surface. In wet weather slow down and before going on a long ride for safety sake replace your tires if they are near the wear bars...its your skin.

It is good idea to attend one of our tech sessions to learn how to plug the tires with a plug kit if that nasty nail has found its way into the tire carcass. That way if it does occur this temporary repair can be quickly accomplished on the roadside.
